Quay now offers Pilates Matwork group classes and privates. Katie our resident Pilates guru trained at the Pilates International Training Centre and tailors classes with a keen focus on helping people to become better athletes in the gym. She found Pilates a few years ago now and instantly fell in love with how it made her feel, function and look. Having had two children, she also has a passion for pre and post natal Pilates and Weightlifting.
What is Pilates?
In short it is based on the belief that it is necessary to exercise all the muscles in the body as "developing the minor muscles naturally to helps to strengthen the major muscles." In the words of the founder Joseph Pilates, it "develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitally, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit." It makes your spine mobile, your trunk stable and strong, your mind clear and makes you feel bloody amazing. You need both weights and pilates...and Quay has it in the one spot!
