DYLAN TATE

Owner/Head Coach

Dylan found CrossFit in 2012 while he was studying Exercise and Sport Science at Notre Dame University, Fremantle. From humble beginnings in his garage to coaching at six CrossFit gyms across Perth, Dylan is known for going out of his way to give his athletes (read: friends/members/training pals) the best experience possible and will do whatever it takes to help you achieve your goals.

He'll also take on anyone who wants a race...in just about anything.

 

Sneaky insert from Katie his wife - he also is a big softie at heart and cares about his athletes more than he will let on! He would do anything for his two kids and wife.

Quay Behind the Scenes, Pilates + Nutrition Coach

You'll see Katie in a Group class next to you or chasing after one of their kiddies. She's Dylan's other half and she runs all the behind the scenes stuff to do with Quay! Like Dylan, she found a love of all things CrossFit a few years ago and never looked back. She is also our Pilates and Nutrition Coach so if you see her eyeballing you in class she'll be thinking of exercises for you to do to help you in your next Group Class or PT!

ABBEY HERBERT

Coach + Massage Therapist

Coming from a competitive swimming background when I was younger (though I didn't amount to much haha), I wanted Fitness to be apart of my lifestyle. 

So, I started straight out of High School where I did Cert III & IV in Fitness to become a PT.

I jumped into a job at a gym in Melville and learnt the basics of machine exercises, Personal Training and running group classes.

After some talk with a colleague, we decided to try this thing called "CrossFit" a go in 2013. I loved the theory & methodology behind why they used functional movements and wanted to incorporate it into my life and other so I did my CrossFit Level 1.

After 6-7 months of Coaching and admin at a local CrossFit gym, I got asked to manage full-time. 

I worked for 1.5 years as manager before I decided I enjoyed coaching more than running a gym, which is what brought me to Quay Training Centre!

I have learnt / and continuing to learn so much which is why I like surrounding myself with like-minded people, and learning from some of the best (Dylan - to name 1)!

I'm a big believer in the law of attraction (no, not physical attraction), and if you really set your mind to something, it can/will happen. 

I can walk upside-down pretty well, & I have a stuck up Border Collie X Kelpie that I love.
